RICHMOND, Ky. – Tennessee Tech sophomore Allyson Dunn nearly pulled of the improbable Saturday, initializing the lowest score of the entire tournament and making a charge at the tourney leader before finishing second to earn all-tournament honors.

Dunn's efforts helped the Tennessee Tech women's golf team claim the third-best total of the day and finish in third place overall among the 12 teams battling at the EKU Colonel Classic, a 54-hole event staged at the University Club at Arlington.

Teeing off in the tourney's third round tied for fourth place, eight shots back of IUPUI's Aneta Abrahamova, Dunn carded the day's best with a two-under 70. Hitting 16 pars and two birdies in the round, she made up six shots on the leader as Abrahamova finished with a 76 and earned medalist honors with a two-over 218. Dunn wound up at four-over 220.

Host Eastern Kentucky, playing on its home course, protected the six-shot lead it held after Friday's first two rounds. The Colonels added a 301 Saturday to win the team title with a 912 total.

Ball State closed with a 305 to sneak ahead of the Golden Eagles and capture second play, 10 shots back of EKU at 922.
