MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – The Tennessee Tech women's golf team wrapped up its first action of the 2015-16 season Tuesday afternoon, completing the final 18 holes of the GolfWeek Program Challenge with another consistent showing.

The Golden Eagles capped their first event of the year with an 11th place finish in the 18-team field at Caledonia Golf & Fish Club, posting a third-round 305 after recording matching scores of 306 on the first and second day of play. Overall, Tech's final score of 917 tied the fourth-lowest 54-hole mark in program history, matching the team's output at the Blue Raider Classic during the 2013-14 season.

The most consistent player of the weekend for Tech, junior Whitney Robertson led the Golden Eagles over the span of the tournament, carding a 75-74-75=224 to tie for 20th overall in the field of 90 golfers. The Clarksville, Tenn. native, who tallied five birdies on the day, also tied her own mark for the seventh-lowest 54-hole score in program history.

Right behind Robertson on the leaderboard finished senior Maddi Everts and sophomore Allyson Dunn, each tying for 23rd. Everts concluded the tournament with a 75-77-74=226, aided by four birdies during her final round.

Dunn, a transfer from East Tennessee State, led all Golden Eagles on Tuesday by posting a career-best 73, backed by four birdies, including three over the final nine holes. Her final card of 75-78-73=226 represented a career-low for the Kingsport, Tenn. native, as did her finish in a tie for 23rd.

Freshman Hollee Sadler turned in an 81-77-83=241 to complete her first ever round at the collegiate level, tying for 68th while helping the Golden Eagles finish second among the four Ohio Valley Conference programs taking part in the event. Lydia Triplett rounded out the day among the Tech participants, tallying an 83-81-84=248.

With one event officially in the books, the Tech squad will turn its attention towards a more familiar setting as the Golden Eagles prepare for the Murray State – Jan Weaver Invitational Sept. 14-15.
