GULF SHORES, Ala. – The fall season has officially come to a close for the Tennessee Tech women's golf team, as the Golden Eagles wrapped up play at the UAB Fall Beach Blast Tuesday afternoon by tying for third place overall.

Tech matched Western Kentucky through the event's two rounds of action at the Peninsula Golf & Racquet Club, tying the Hilltoppers for third among the 11 teams in competition. The Golden Eagles, who concluded action with scores of 302 and 294 for a 596, also finished first among the four Ohio Valley Conference programs at the event, beating out Jacksonville State, Austin Peay and Belmont.

Southern Miss captured the tournament title, defeating the Tech squad by just three strokes overall with a 593. Host school UAB saw its own Kayla Willbourn take home individual medalist honors after totaling a 141 with rounds of 69 and 72.

The third-place finish marked the fourth consecutive top five finish for the Golden Eagles and the third top three finish of the season. Tech's final score of 596 marked the second lowest in program history for 36 holes and the lowest since 2008 when the team set the 36-hole record of 586 at the Great Smokies Collegiate.

Pacing the Golden Eagles Tuesday was Whitney Robertson, who just missed out on another top 10 finish. The junior tied for 11th overall after carding rounds of 74 and 73 for a 147.

Matching Robertson on Tuesday was true freshman Hollee Sadler. The rookie posted a second-round 73 to go with a 76 on day one for a 149 overall. She finished tied for 18th among the field of 59.

Also shaving three strokes from their first-day total was ETSU transfer Allyson Dunn. The sophomore concluded Tuesday's round with a 2-over 74 to finish at 151 for the event and in a tie for 24th.

Senior Megan Williamson tied for 30th overall in the event, finishing just two strokes back of Dunn. The Murfreesboro, Tenn. native tallied scores of 75 and 78 for a 153. Fellow senior Maddi Everts bounced back in a huge way from a tough first round, dropping 13 strokes for a second round score of 74. She finished tied for 48th with a 161 overall.

The Golden Eagles will return to Cookeville and enjoy a brief offseason before jumping back onto the links in February for the spring slate of tournaments.
