Tech concludes second round in South Carolina

KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – Taking aim in the largest golf tournament in the country, the Tennessee Tech women's golf team completed its second round of action Monday afternoon, wrapping up the first two days in 34th overall in the field of 41.

The Golden Eagles combined to card a 333 in the tourney's second day, paced by freshman Hollee Sadler, who topped Tech with a 77 in the second round to put the Manchester, Tenn. native in a tie for 49th in the field of 216. The round featured a pair of birdies after Sadler bested par on the fourth and sixth holes. 

Overall, TTU has teamed up to shoot 648 over the first two afternoons in South Carolina.

Junior Whitney Robertson posted a second-round 82 to put a ribbon on the first two days in a tie for 122nd. Sophomore Allyson Dunn rounds out the top three Tech scores, currently sitting in a tie for 166th with a combined mark of 165.

Senior Megan Williamson showed improvement from day to day after registering a first-round 87, before coming back with a second-round 86. Junior Haley Davidson finished up the second afternoon with an 88.

The tournament is set to conclude Tuesday morning at the Kiawah Island Golf Resort.
