BRENTWOOD, Tenn. - Not one, but two members of the Tennessee Tech women's golf team were recognized as members of the 2022-23 All-Ohio Valley Conference Women's Golf Team Sunday evening at the league's annual postseason banquet.
Junior Ainsley Simms and senior Elisabeth Toennessen each picked up All-OVC honors for the first time in their careers, representing two of the 11-member squad honored as the best in the league for the 2022-23 season.
Simms ranked 10th in the OVC during the regular season in scoring average, pacing the Golden Eagles with a mark of 77.3. Toennessen put forth a top-15 ranking to finish second on the Tech squad, averaging 78.5 strokes per round.
Both Simms and Toennessen boasted a top-10 finish each on the year.
The two Tech veterans represent the first Golden Eagle to take home All-OVC honors since Shelby Johnson back in 2018-19. They also represent the first Tech duo to both earn a spot on the All-League squad since the 2014-15 campaign when Maddi Everts and Whitney Roberts both took home the honor.
