Tech women's golf to compete at Pirate Collegiate Classic

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech women's golf team sets sail for its third event of the fall campaign, competing at the Pirate Collegiate Classic Monday and Tuesday at Greenville Country Club in Greenville, N.C.

PIRATE COLLEGIATE CLASSIC: Oct. 10-11, 2022 – 54 holes (36 Monday, 18 Tuesday), located at the par-72, 6,072-yard Greenville Country Club in Greenville, N.C. The first round begins with tee times at 8:00 a.m. CT and will be immediately followed with the second round. The third round tees off with another round of tee times starting at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday.

GOLDEN EAGLE LINEUP: Competing for the Golden Eagles are junior Ainsley Simms, senior Makenzie Morton, senior Elisabeth Toennessen, senior Gittle Sciolis, and freshman Kaitlyn Rand.

THE COMPETITION: The 12-team field consists of host East Carolina, as well as Georgetown, High Point, Marshall, Nova Southeastern, Queens of Charlotte, Seton Hall, Stetson, Tennessee Tech, The Citadel, Towson, and UNCG.

THOUGHTS FROM HEAD COACH AMANDA SMITH: "This fall's schedule sets up great for us. We are now in the middle of the season and have had a great week narrowing down the essential parts of our game from the last showing. It'll be a test for our ladies since we have never been to this event before. We are excited to get after it and perform our best."
