BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech hurler Jacob Morin was recognized as the Ohio Valley Conference Pitcher of the Week for the first time in his career as announced by the league on Monday.

Morin was a beast out of the bullpen for the purple and gold over the weekend, racking up a pair of saves with four innings of work and just a single unearned run allowed. He tallied four strikeouts with no walks issued and allowed just a single hit to the tune of a ridiculous 0.25 WHIP.

In the opener, the right-hander worked three full innings, entering the contest in the seventh with the bases loaded, no one out, and a run already across. Morin worked out of the jam without further damage and proceeded to allow just one, unearned run in the eighth before locking down the save in the ninth. He tallied three strikeouts in the game.

The redshirt junior came back out of the bullpen to close the second game of the weekend, working a perfect ninth with a punch out for his second save of the series and fourth of the season. Morin currently leads the Golden Eagles with a 3.73 ERA, four saves, .200 opponent batting average.

The Golden Eagles will hit the road for their final midweek tilt of the season, heading to Lexington Tuesday evening for a 5:30 p.m. CT match-up at No. 16 Kentucky.
