COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – For the 11th consecutive year under the watch of head coach Matt Bragga, the Tennessee Tech baseball team played host to numerous Major League Baseball teams with its annual Pro Scout Night Wednesday evening, opening the gates and doors to Quillen Field/Bush Stadium at the Averitt Express Baseball Complex to scouts from the highest level of professional baseball.

"This has always been a great tradition and I'm so excited to have it back once again in Cookeville," Bragga expressed. "We had a sensational turnout for our event tonight, allowing our guys to showcase their talents to scouts from the highest of professional ranks. These young men put in so much work at the yard and in the classroom, striving to better this program, it's wonderful to see them have a chance to perform."

Major League Baseball was represented by over half of its membership on the night, including the Atlanta Braves, Baltimore Orioles, Boston Red Sox, Chicago Cubs, Chicago White Sox, Cincinnati Reds, Detroit Tigers, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, Los Angeles Dodgers, Minnesota Twins, New York Yankees, Philadelphia Phillies, Pittsburgh Pirates, Seattle Mariners, Toronto Blue Jays, and Washington Nationals, among others.

"We had more than 20 scouts here tonight representing a number of Major League teams, which is outstanding as we try to build this event back up," Bragga said. "It was great to play host to those guys and we are grateful for their participation. It's awesome for our guys to play in front of Major League Baseball scouts and great for our program."

A total of 45 Golden Eagles have signed with MLB in program history, including 21 alone from the during the Matt Bragga era. Five of those 27 signees from 2008-18 played at the Major League level.
