BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech third baseman Peyton Mills was recognized as the Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week for the first time in his career as announced by the league on Monday.

Mills was an offensive force while helping the Golden Eagles to a 3-1 week, batting .353 with a 1.118 slugging percentage. He mashed his first four home runs in the purple and gold with team-high marks of 12 RBI and eight runs scored during the week.

In the team's 10-5 midweek win over Lipscomb, he finished 2-for-4 with three RBI, a double, and his first long ball of the year while scoring twice. Mills picked up two more runs and RBI in the opener with Queens University of Charlotte.

On Saturday, he hit another round-tripper for two more RBI to his weekly total, helping Tech best the Royals in comeback fashion, 8-6. The Hernando, Miss. native closed the weekend with two more bombs for five RBI and three runs scored in the series-clinching, 13-2 win over Queens.

The Golden Eagles wrap up their current, four-game road swing with a clash at No. 7 nationally-ranked Vanderbilt Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. CT in Nashville.
