SETTING THE STAGE
This marks the 23rd meeting between the Golden Eagles and the Gamecocks. Tech holds a 17-5 advantage, however the Gamecocks are on a two-game winning streak including an upset win over the Golden Eagles in the 2014 OVC Tournament semi-finals.

So far this season, the Gamecocks are one of just three teams in the OVC with a winning record on the season, at 15-7.

JSU is led by the duo of Destany McLin and Candace Morton. McLin leads the way with 12.7 points per game, while grabbing a team-high seven rebounds as well. Morton follows with 12 points, four rebounds, while swatting away a team-best 23 blocks so far this season. She has also attempted a team-high 109 free throws on the season, connecting on 86.

The Gamecocks are currently on a three-game winning streak in the OVC, taking down Morehead State, Eastern Kentucky, and Tennessee State.  JSU is shooting 38.6-percent from the field this season, and are out-rebounding its opponents 41.3-38.9.

Tech is looking to find it's footing as they return home to host JSU.  The Golden Eagles have lost six-straight following a two-game winning run in early January.  Tech is forcing its opponents into 18.6 turnovers per game.

Junior Samaria Howard has led the Golden Eagles in scoring since the beginning, and continues to do so with 14.3 points per game, while grabbing 5.3 rebounds as well. Candace Parson follows with 10.8 points, and a team-high 5.9 rebounds.
