Tennessee Tech looks to find its way versus Morehead State on Monday evening

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech women's basketball team is set to host Morehead State on Monday at 6:00 p.m. CST.

Fans may purchase their tickets online (TTUsports.com), in person at the Athletics Ticket Office in Eblen Center, or on the telephone (931-372-3940).

If fans cannot make the game, it will be available on the OVC Digital Network, and on the radio on 106.1 FM The Eagle.

SETTING THE STAGE
Tech comes into Monday's match-up with a 58-20 all-time lead over the Morehead State Eagles. Last season, the two squads spilt their two games, each winning in its home arena.

Morehead State is currently 8-12, and 4-3 in Ohio Valley Conference play, coming off of a 72-64 loss at Jacksonville State. Morehead's senior guard Almesha Jones scored a game-high 23 points, adding five assists and four steals, while playing 39 minutes.

On the season, Jones is averaging 17.3 points and eight assists. Following her is Shay Steele who averages 13.9 points and leads the team with 41 blocks so far this season. Freshman Eriel McKee is nearly averaging a double-double as she puts up 13 points, and grabs an average of 8.8 rebounds.

The Golden Eagles are looking to bounce back from their third-straight loss by four or less points. This most recent heart-breaker came in double overtime to Eastern Kentucky, 97-93.

Tech had four different players in double figures, led by Samaria Howard with 20 points, nine rebounds, three assists, two blocks and three steals. Hannah Goolsby and Catherine Taylor each chipped in with 17 points, the mark by Taylor her career-high. Senior T'Keyah Williams finished a strong effort with 15 points and 13 rebounds, her first double-double of the year and seventh of her career.

On the season, Howard leads the team with 13.9 points per game, and has raised her rebounding average to 5.1. Following her is Senior Candace Parson who is averaging 11. 4 points and team best 5.8 rebounds. Goolsby has increased her season scoring average to 9.9, while adding 42 assists on the season.
