COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech women's golf team continues its 2023-24 season at the UAB Hoover Invitational, heading to Hoover, Ala. to compete at Hoover Country Club Monday and Tuesday.
UAB HOOVER INVITATIONAL: Sept. 18-19, 2023 – 54 holes (36 Monday, 18 Tuesday), located at the par-72, 6,101-yard Hoover Country Club in Hoover, Ala. Play will begin Monday with 36 holes of action with an 8:30 a.m. CT shotgun start. Tech will compete in the final round on Tuesday, also featuring an 8:15 a.m. shotgun start.
GOLDEN EAGLE LINEUP: Competing for the Golden Eagles are senior Ainsley Simms, senior Gittle Sciolis, sophomore Kaydi Rhodes, junior Reagan Stuke, and freshman Chloe Griffith.
THE COMPETITION: The nine-team field consists of host UAB, as well as Austin Peay, Jacksonville, North Alabama, Queens of Charlotte, Samford, Stetson, Tennessee Tech, and Troy.
THOUGHTS FROM HEAD COACH AMANDA SMITH: "The team learned a tremendous amount while we were at our first event in Mobile. There were a lot of positives to take with us into the last couple of weeks of practice. This travel team is excited to keep climbing the ladder and seeing what we are capable of. I know this course will be fun and challenging, which always makes us better."
