Tech women's golf team opens fall slate at USA Intercollegiate

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech women's golf team officially kick off its 2023-24 campaign at the USA Intercollegiate Saturday, beginning three days of action at Crossings Course at the RTJ Trail at Magnolia Grove in Mobile, Ala.

USA INTERCOLLEGIATE: Sept. 2-4, 2023 – 54 holes (18 Saturday, 18 Sunday, 18 Monday), located at the par-72, 6,118-yard Crossings Course at the RTJ Trail at Magnolia Grove in Mobile, Ala. Play will begin Saturday with 18 holes of action. Tech will compete in one more round each on Sunday and Monday to conclude the event.

GOLDEN EAGLE LINEUP: Competing for the Golden Eagles are freshman Chloe Griffith, senior Ainsley Simms, junior Reagan Stuke, senior Gittle Sciolis, and freshman Lexus Julian.

THE COMPETITION: The 10-team field consists of host South Alabama, as well as Georgia State, Jacksonville State, Little Rock, Memphis, Middle Tennessee, Southern Miss, Tennessee Tech, Troy, and ULM.

THOUGHTS FROM HEAD COACH AMANDA SMITH: "The brand new season is already setting in for this team. They have consistently put themselves in great positions after five rounds of qualification for this event. We are looking forward to traveling down to Magnolia Grove and testing our abilities in the heat. I am excited for the start of the new season with these ladies."
