COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The 2023-24 campaign will see the Tennessee Tech women's golf team adventuring into new territory, with a slew of new events on the docket as the fall season quickly approaches. Head coach Amanda Smith announced the season schedule Wednesday, with a heavy focus on a fall full of change.

"The new year always excites our players, especially when we can put together such a great schedule like this," Smith expressed. "There will be multiple events we haven't played in, so it will be great for our seniors, Ainsley Simms and Gittle Sciolis, to experience some new courses and cities."

Opening up the fall is a first-time event for the purple and gold, South Alabama's USA Intercollegiate. Tech will compete at Magnolia Grove Golf Course in Mobile, Ala. in the team's lone three-day tournament of the fall slate, running from Sept. 2-4.

Also new to the Golden Eagle schedule is a mid-September return to Alabama, this time for the UAB Hoover Invitational. Competing at Hoover Country Club in Birmingham, Ala., the 54-hole event will cover Sept. 18-19.

Continuing the trend of a fresh look is the Saluki Invitational, hosted by Southern Illinois from Oct. 2-3. The purple and gold will compete in the tournament for the first time, visiting Cape Girardeau, Mo. and Dalhousie Golf Club, the destination of the Ohio Valley Conference Men's Golf Championships the previous two seasons.

"We are especially excited to play up at Dalhousie, which hosted the Men's OVC Championships the last few years," Smith explained. "They always treat the players so well and continue to make the course in elegant structure."

Just one week later, the Golden Eagles head back out on the road, this time traveling east for the UNCG Fall Invitational. Running from Oct. 9-10, UNCG's annual tournament will take place at Forest Oaks Country Club in Greensboro, N.C.

A return to the east marks the end of the fall season for the Tech squad, with the Terrier Intercollegiate representing the program's lone, repeat event of the year. Three Golden Eagles gained experience at The Carolina Country Club last season at Wofford's tournament in Spartanburg, S.C. This year's edition will run from Oct. 23-24.

"Overall, this schedule brings new and exciting courses that will challenge and motivate the ladies this year to enhance their games and confidence," Smith said. "We look forward to everyone following along."

Tech's spring slate will also feature five tournaments, including the Ohio Valley Conference Championships in mid-April. Smith and the Golden Eagles will release more details on the 2023 spring schedule following the conclusion of the fall season.
