COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Monday's game between Mercer and the Tennessee Tech women's basketball team has been cancelled as the visiting Bears have entered COVID protocols.
"This has been and will continue to be a challenge all of us in collegiate athletics face this year," said Tech director of athletics Mark Wilson. "We are just going to keep moving forward and continue to do everything in our power to ensure the safety of our student-athletes, coaches, support staff and fans during this time."
The game against the Bears was originally scheduled for a 2 p.m. tip at the Eblen Center.
The cancellation marks the sixth erasure or postponement for the Tech women's team this season as the Golden Eagles stand with a 3-1 record after defeating Western Kentucky Sunday afternoon.
