Tech women at Jacksonville State postponed

By Thomas Corhern, TTU Sports Information

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – As the Tennessee Tech women's basketball team continues its shutdown due to following COVID protocols, the team announced this morning that its Ohio Valley Conference opener at Jacksonville State on Thursday will not be played as scheduled.

A makeup date has not yet been set. The Gamecocks are set to make the trip to Cookeville on December 13.

Tech is exploring options to schedule a game before that matchup to get an opportunity to prepare for OVC play.

This is the fourth game this season for the Golden Eagles that has been canceled or postponed due to COVID protocols. Vanderbilt and Chattanooga were originally scheduled for November 25 and 29 before those teams had to enter protocol shutdowns, then Tech's rescheduled game for November 29 at UAB was canceled.

"We know this is a frustrating time for fans as well as for the student-athletes and coaches who want to get back out on the court and represent our University," said Tech Director of Athletics Mark Wilson. "We will continue to be flexible with the scheduling when the situations arise and continue to do everything to protect the well-being of our student-athletes, coaches, fans and Athletics family."

As the season progresses, the schedule will continue to be subject to change. Continue to follow TTUsports.com for updates or on Tech women's basketball social media on FacebookTwitter and Instagram.
