COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – As the Tennessee Tech women's basketball team prepares to kick off its 50th anniversary season, the Golden Eagles continue to have one of the most storied traditions in women's basketball.

Just a look around the Hooper Eblen Center rafters makes that point abundantly clear, celebrating the team's championships, as well as AIAW and NCAA tournament appearances. The players that have taken to the court are legendary, as are some of the games fans have entered the turnstiles to see.

Tennessee Tech women's basketball means a lot to Cookeville and the Upper Cumberland region. To help keep that effort going, the program will host its fourth annual Maintain the Tradition fundraising event.

Current head coach Kim Rosamond revived the initiative before the 2017-18 season and will hold the fourth annual event on Saturday, November 14, starting at 10 a.m. With fans unable to attend this year's event during the current pandemic, the Maintain the Tradition event will be live-streamed online on YouTube.

Dylan Vazzano will host the event as the Golden Eagle coaching staff and players are interviewed about the 2020-21 season.

Each player will shoot a total of 100 free throws with two players at each goal. One player will shoot 10 then rotate with their partner until the total is reached.

The Tech women's team will open its 2020-21 campaign on November 25 at Vanderbilt, then begin its home slate on December 3 against Jacksonville State.
