Improvements shown by Skeen on day two on NCAA Auburn Regional

AUBURN, Ala. – Round two of the NCAA Men's Golf Championships is in the books as Tennessee Tech men's golfer Jackson Skeen wrapped up his second day of action at the Auburn Regional at Auburn University Club Tuesday afternoon.

The first Golden Eagle since TTU Sports Hall of Famer and PGA Tour Pro Scott Stallings got the call to participate back in 2006, Skeen finished day one at 6-over with a score of 78 overall.

On Tuesday, the Jonesborough, Tenn. native made some adjustments to climb six spots up the leaderboard, wrapping up the day tied for 48th among 75 participants. Skeen delivered a 3-over 75, racking up three birdies overall. 

The sophomore made birdie on the par-4 No. 4 hole, par-5 No. 13, and the par-4 No. 15 hole. He now owns five birdies for the tournament with one round to go on Wednesday in Auburn, Ala.

Collectively, Skeen owns a score of 153 between the opening two rounds of play, ranking seventh among the 10 players competing as individuals in the event.

Skeen will tee off in his third and final round of the Auburn Regional Wednesday morning at 10:01 a.m. CT.
