COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – With the second half of its 2022-23 campaign quickly approaching, the Tennessee Tech men's golf team announced its spring schedule with a focus on building on a strong fall.

Kicking things off for the Golden Eagles in the spring is the team's match-play event for the regular season, the Carpenter-Chaney Classic, on Friday, Feb. 10 and Saturday, Feb. 11. Tech, last year's runner-up at the event, will head to Mims, Fla. this time around to compete at the Indian River Preserve Golf Club in the tournament hosted by Ohio Valley Conference foes Morehead State and UT Martin.

For the 10th time in 11 years, the purple and gold makes its return to Sevierville, Tenn. to host the Bobby Nichols Intercollegiate a full month after the start of the season. Running from Sunday, Mar. 12 through Tuesday, Mar. 14, the event will once again take place on the River Course of Sevierville Golf Club.

Next on the docket for the Tech crew is a first-time event in Gulf Shores, Ala., South Alabama's Craft Farms Intercollegiate. The three-day event will run from Sunday, Mar. 26 through Tuesday, Mar. 28 on the Cotton Creek Course at Craft Farms Golf Club.

A traditional tournament ends the purple and gold's regular-season slate, with the Golden Eagles returning to the Big Blue Intercollegiate hosted by Tennessee State. A two-time winner of the event and last year's runner-up, the Tech squad will again compete at President's Reserve at The Hermitage Golf Course in Old Hickory, Tenn. from Monday, Apr. 10 through Tuesday, Apr. 11.

Tech will conclude the spring at the OVC Championships, taking place at the Dalhousie Golf Club in Cape Girardeau, Mo. for the second straight year. Spanning Sunday, Apr. 23 through Wednesday, Apr. 26, this year's event will again include three rounds of stroke play followed by the top four teams advancing to match play on the final day. This is the second time match play has been used to determine the OVC Champion, with Tech winning the stroke play portion of last year's tournament before falling to UT Martin in the match-play final.

"We're excited to get things going back in the spring," Tech head coach Polk Brown said. "We've got a couple of events we've played in in the past and a couple we have not, such as the Craft Farms Intercollegiate down in Gulf Shores. Coming off such a solid fall, I think the guys are eager to keep that going here in about a month when we hit the road for our first event down in Florida.

"I believe we have a very good team and if they go about their business the right way, as far as their work ethic and everything they do day-in and day-out, we'll give ourselves a chance to be really successful throughout the course of the semester and certainly at OVC. We came up just a little short last year, and I think if we do what we need to do throughout the semester, we'll give ourselves a chance to have a lot of success, especially at the end of the year at Conference."
