BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – For the third time this fall, Tennessee Tech's Jackson Skeen was honored as the Ohio Valley Conference's Male Golfer of the Week, as announced by the league Wednesday afternoon.

Already the first Golden Eagle in program history to earn OVC Freshman of the Year honors (last season) and an OVC Male Golfer of the Month honor (this September), Skeen chalked up his fourth weekly accolade since joining the purple and gold last season as a redshirt freshman transfer from Tennessee. His fourth award set a new school record for a career, snapping a tie with the likes of Nick Sutton, Bracton Womack, Matthew Giles, and Scott Stallings.

The sophomore captured the honor once again after delivering a runner-up performance at the Pinetree Intercollegiate Tuesday afternoon. Skeen kicked off the action in the team's final fall event with back-to-back, sub-par rounds of 71 and 70.

He followed it up with a 1-over 73 under the tournament's most challenging course conditions, finishing with a 2-under 214. Four of Skeen's five tournament scores during the fall came in under par, with the lone outlier a 1-over 217 last week at the Xavier Invitational.

On the year, Skeen has earned All-Tournament honors in four of Tech's five events. He claimed OVC Male Golfer of the Week following a third-place finish and career-low 205 at the Golfweek Fall Challenge to open the year. He picked up his second such award after winning the Georgia State Invitational with a 71-70-67=208 two weeks ago.

Skeen currently leads the OVC in scoring average with an impressive mark of 70.27. The Jonesborough, Tenn. native is just the third Golden Eagle to earn OVC Male Golf of the Week accolades three times in a single season. Sutton did so three times in the fall during the 2021-22 campaign while Giles claimed three honors during the fall of the 2015-16 season.

Tech will head into winter break and officially kick off the spring campaign at the Carpenter-Chaney Classic match play event. Hosted by Morehead State and UT Martin, the tournament will take place at Indiana River Preserve Golf Club in Mims, Fla.
