CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – Round two of the Ohio Valley Conference Championships came to a close for the Tennessee Tech men's golf team Monday afternoon, as the Golden Eagles rounded out their second trip around Dalhousie Golf Club in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
Tech completed the day seventh overall in the nine-team field, posting a 305 to total a 605 between the first two rounds of action. Little Rock extended its lead at the top of the leaderboard, totaling a 280 to sit 19-under with a 557 through two days of play.
The Trojan's Anton Albers took over the top spot on the individual leaderboard, turning in a 7-under 65 to sit at 135 overall for a five-stroke lead.
Golden Eagle sophomore Jackson Skeen continued to lead the purple and gold with stellar play, carding his second straight 1-under 71. Tallying three birdies and 13 pars overall, he remained tied for fifth in the 45-man field with a score of 142.
Freshman Anders Larson ranked second among the Tech participants, turning in a 79 on Monday with three birdies. The rookie tied for 29th after totaling 153 through two rounds. Next on the leaderboard for the purple and gold was Sean Anderson, tying for 35th with a total of 155. The junior recorded a 4-over 76 on the day with a pair of birdies.
Veteran Chance Taylor wrapped up the second round with an 80 and one birdie, tying for 35th in the standings with a two-day total of 156. Rounding out the Tech lineup was rookie Haden Maxwell, posting one birdie on his way to a 79 for the second straight day. The freshman tied for 39th overall with a 158 composite score.
The third and final round of the OVC Championships is set to kick off Tuesday morning with tee times starting at 8:00 a.m. CT.
