BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – For the fourth time this year and first time this spring, Tennessee Tech's Jackson Skeen was honored as the Ohio Valley Conference's Male Golfer of the Week, as announced by the league Thursday morning.

Already the first Golden Eagle in program history to earn OVC Freshman of the Year honors (last season) and an OVC Male Golfer of the Month honor (this September), Skeen chalked up his fifth weekly accolade since joining the purple and gold last season as a redshirt freshman transfer from Tennessee. His fifth award extends his school record for a career.

The sophomore claimed the honor once again after tying for 12th in a field of 75 at the Craft Farms Intercollegiate, held at Cotton Creek Golf Course in Gulf Shores, Ala. last weekend. Skeen finished 1-over for the event with 217, just six shots off the lead.

He opened the tournament with a 1-over 73, building solid momentum into back-to-back rounds of even-par 72 to round out the week. Skeen's performance marked his sixth top-20 finish of the year in seven events, with four of those representing top-five showings.

On the year, Skeen has earned All-Tournament honors in four of Tech's seven events. He claimed OVC Male Golfer of the Week following a third-place finish and career-low 205 at the Golfweek Fall Challenge to open the year. He picked up his second such award after winning the Georgia State Invitational in early October and his third following a runner-up showing at the Pinetree Intercollegiate in the middle of the month.

Skeen currently leads the OVC in scoring average with an impressive mark of 71.19. The Jonesborough, Tenn. native is the first Golden Eagle to earn OVC Male Golf of the Week accolades four times in a single season.

Tech will return to action April 10 and 11 in Old Hickory, Tenn. for the Big Blue Intercollegiate at The Hermitage Golf Course and President's Reserve.
