Golden Eagles set course for Cape Girardeau for OVC Championships

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech men's golf team kicks off its hunt for its first Ohio Valley Conference title since 1990 Sunday, beginning four days of action at Dalhousie Golf Club in Cape Girardeau, Mo. The league's runner-up last season, the Golden Eagles will compete in 54 holes of stroke play Sunday through Tuesday. The top four teams move on to match play on Wednesday to determine the OVC Champion. 

OVC CHAMPIONSHIPS: Apr. 23-26, 2023 – 54 holes stroke-play (18 Sunday, 18 Monday, 18 Tuesday), 18 holes match-play (top four teams on Wednesday), located at the par-72, 7,016-yard Dalhousie Golf Club in Cape Girardeau, Mo. Play will begin with tee times at 9:00 a.m. CT Sunday. This year's event will include three rounds of stroke play followed by the top four teams advancing to match play on the final day. This is the second time match play has been used to determine the OVC Champion.

GOLDEN EAGLE LINEUP: Competing for the Golden Eagles are sophomore Jackson Skeen, freshman Anders Larson, senior Chance Taylor, freshman Haden Maxwell, and junior Sean Anderson.

THE COMPETITION: The nine-team field consists of Eastern Illinois, Lindenwood, Little Rock, Morehead State, SIUE, Southern Indiana, Tennessee State, Tennessee Tech, and UT Martin.

THOUGHTS FROM HEAD COACH POLK BROWN: "The guys have been working all year towards this opportunity. We played very solid at TSU, which will give us some good momentum as we head to Dalhousie. We are excited to go to work and compete for a championship."
