COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee Tech head men's golf coach Polk Brown announced the full 2022-23 schedule Thursday, putting a focus on a fall slate that features many familiar events to Golden Eagle fans from years past.

"We will play a lot of familiar courses for the team this fall," Brown said. "This will be the first time in several years we have played five events during the fall semester (as opposed to four), but I know the guys are ready to get back after it and have been hard at work over the summer. We can't wait to get started."

Kicking things off for the 2022-23 campaign is the Golfweek Fall Challenge from Sept. 11-13. The three-day tournament will take place once again at True Blue Golf Club in Myrtle Beach, S.C. with 18 holes of action each day. Hosted by Golfweek, Tech will compete in the event for the second straight year and fifth time under Brown's direction, highlighted by a fifth-place showing last season.

"We're always excited to get the season started at True Blue in Myrtle Beach," Brown explained. "It is a great golf course that will provide the guys a lot of scoring opportunities to start out the season."

Next on the docket as another repeat event for the purple and gold is UT Martin's Grover Page Classic in Jackson, Tenn. Competing at Jackson Country Club from Sept. 19-20, the Golden Eagles will look to build off the success of last year's runner-up finish. Overall, Tech has turned in seven top-three finishes, including a win and three runner-up showings, in nine previous trips to the tournament.

"We have enjoyed a lot of success at Jackson Country Club over the years and we look to continue that this fall," Brown expressed. "The course is always in fantastic condition, especially during this time of the year, and we look forward to getting back to UT Martin's event."

Rounding out an identical first three tournaments to the 2021-22 campaign is the Georgia State Invitational, a two-day slate from Oct. 3-4 at Berkeley Hills Country Club in Duluth, Ga. Tech will look for similar success to last year's third-place showing in its third appearance in the event under Brown.

"Georgia State puts on a great event at Berkeley Hills every year," Brown said. "It is an old-school type country club that is very similar to Jackson, and the team has always enjoyed playing it year after year."

New to the travel plans in 2022-23 is a trip to TPC River's Bend in Maineville, Ohio for the Xavier Invitational. The two-day tournament, hosted by Xavier, will run from Oct. 10-11 and require a swift learning curve for the Golden Eagles.

"This will be a first-time event for the team and we are excited to travel to the Cincinnati area during Fall Break," Brown expressed. "TPC River's Bend will present a great challenge to our guys, but we will be ready to go."

Wrapping up the fall is a visit to Pinetree Country Club in Kennesaw, Ga. for Kennesaw State's Pinetree Intercollegiate. Competing Oct. 17-18, the Golden Eagles will make their third appearance in the tournament since 2015 and first since 2019.

"We will close out the fall semester at Pinetree Country Club," Brown explained. "We have only played in this event twice previously, but the golf course sets up very similarly as Jackson and Berkeley Hills, so it should present well for the team. We look forward to closing out the semester on a strong note."

Tech's spring slate will also feature five events, including the Ohio Valley Conference Championships which return to Dalhousie Golf Club in Cape Girardeau, Mo. for the second straight year. Brown and the Golden Eagles will release more details on the 2023 spring schedule following the fall season.
