JACKSONVILLE, Ala. -- Tennessee Tech is getting consistent scoring throughout its lineup during the first two rounds of the Grub Mart Invitational, but it hasn't put the Golden Eagles near the top of the leaderboard in the 14-team tourney hosted by Jacksonville State.

Tech finds itself in 12th place following 36 holes of play, despite a six-shot improvement on the second go-round at the Silver Lakes Golf Course.

Austin Peay (569) had the best team score of the day in the second round with a 280, and owns a slim, two-shot lead over host Jacksonville State (571). Eastern Kentucky (575) is in third, just six shots off the lead. Belmont, Nichols State and Columbus State are tied for fourth at 582.

After posting a 301 to start the day, the Golden Eagles came back with a 295 in the second round for a two-round total of 596. The Golden Eagles are three stokes back of Utah Valley and Samford, which are tied for 10th at 593. Tech owns a 13-shot edge on Morehead State and is 15 ahead of UT Martin.

Individually, Dustin Korte of Austin Peay is in the lead after shooting rounds of 71 and 65. He's three strokes ahead of JSU's Tom Robson with a 67-72--139.

All six Golden Eagles scored in the 70s both rounds. Sophomore Lee Maxwell leads Tech, scoring 76 and 72 for a 148, placing him in a tie for 31st. Freshman Mason Griffin is 37th at 75-74--149. Two shots back are junior Tyler Cassetty (76-75) and freshman Greg Kitts (77-74) at 151, while freshman Sam Schrock is one shot further back (74-78) at 152.

Junior Travis Ramsey, playing as an individual, is tied for 42nd place after scoring rounds of 76 and 74 for a 36-hole total of 150.
