Men’s golf set to tee it up in Murray State for their second tournament of the fall season

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- The Tennessee Tech Golden Eagle men’s golf team is expecting perfect weather for their second tournament of the fall season, as they head to Murray, Ky., to play in the Murray State Invitational on Monday and Tuesday.

Tee off is schedule for 8:30 a.m. on Monday for the first two rounds (36 holes) of the 54-hole tournament, while the final round of 18 will be played on Tuesday.

Both teams finished in ninth place in their past two outings, Tech at Morehead State’s Wasioto Winds Fall Kick-Off Tournament, and the Races at the Cardinal Intercollegiate in Louisville.

Junior Tyler Cassetty, Tech’s no. 1 player, set the tone for the Golden Eagles at Morehead, finishing 12th overall in the tournament with bookend scores of 70 and 74, with a 79 creeping up in the middle. He will be looking to improve on his overall game this weekend with three solid card scores to pace the Golden Eagles again at Murray.

The Racers, however, took first place in the Wasioto Winds Tournament, providing the Golden Eagles with some incentive for a rematch going into this week’s invitational.

Incoming scores will be posted daily, with a final results summary to appear after play concludes on Tuesday evening.

The following list of teams will be participating in the invitational:

Murray State (2 teams)
UT Martin (2 teams)
Tennessee Tech
Morehead State
Belmont
Lipscomb
Union (TN)
Bethel
Lambuth
Brescia
