COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- Tennessee Tech has unveiled some new uniforms
and helmets lately, and Thursday night will show off another set of
new threads. This time, it will be the Golden Eagle Marching
Band.
The band will march to the stadium during pregame fetivities
Thursday, prior to the opener against Cumberland University. The
band will march down University Drive and McGee Boulevard, then
make a turn into the 98.5 Kiss FM Tailgate Park where they will
perform for the assembled fans. The band's will arrive in the
Tailgate Park at approximately 6:10 p.m., with a performance at
6:15 p.m.
From there, the band will head into the stadium where it is
scheduled to play a pregame show at 6:45 p.m. In addition to adding
musical tones to the game's atmosphere, the band will also take to
the field for its regular halftime show. At the conclusion of the
contest, the Golden Eagle football team will huddle on the track in
front of the band on the stadium's east side, and the team and
musicians will all join in singing the Tech Hymn.
The Director of the Golden Eagle Marching Band is Dr. Eric L.
Harris. Drum Majors or the 2013 season are Samantha Grissom from
Greeneville, Tenn., Konstantine Vlasis from Chattanooga, Tenn., and
Criag Wilcox from Goodlettsville, Tenn.
