Golden Eagles look to keep their success going as they travel to Eastern Kentucky

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. --- After capping off a perfect 2-0 homestand, the Tennessee Tech women's basketball team will try to keep things rolling as it hits the road to take on Eastern Kentucky Saturday.

The opening tip is set for 3 p.m. CT

Saturday's matchup marks the 72nd meeting between the Golden Eagles and Lady Colonels, with TTU leading the all-time series at 51-20. Last season, Tech dealt EKU a pair of losses, which included a 56-49 victory in their last meeting. While TTU has dominated their overall series at home (28-4), the Lady Colonels have put up a better fight historically in their building as the Golden Eagles hold a slight advantage at 18-14.

Sophomore Molly Heady, who is Tech's third leading scorer, has been one of the most consistent Golden Eagles of late, posting 38 points in her last three games. She put up 14 points against Southeast Missouri and Jacksonville State, while connecting on 13-of-20 (.650).

Senior Tacarra Hayes has also put up consistent numbers over the last few games, which included a 15-point performance against JSU. Her 362 points leads the Golden Eagles this season, and her career total of 1,570 points ranks 11th on the all-time scorers list at Tech.

Eastern Kentucky (10-9, 5-3 OVC) dropped its most recent conference game to UT Martin 84-61 despite Jade Barber posting a double-double with 24 points and 10 rebounds.

Barber is currently averaging 11.4 points and a team-leading 7.4 rebounds, while Marie Carpenter lead EKU with an average of 13.7 points per game.

Because of game time overlap, the women's game will be broadcast at the conclusion of the men's game against Morehead State.
