Telecasts begin Thursday with men's game vs.
Tennessee State
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. -- Continuing its long-standing support of
Tennessee Tech athletics, Cookeville television station WCTE TV has
announced plans to air 10 Golden Eagle basketball games from Eblen
Center during the 2011-12 season. The station's program lineup
includes five women's games and five men's games.
Program director Rick Wells announced the program schedule, which
begins this week and runs through mid-February.
The first game to be televised will be this Thursday night with
the men's contest against Tennessee State, with tipoff slated for 7
p.m. The cameras will be aimed at the action for both games
Saturday during a doubleheader against Morehead State, and also on
Monday night for the women's game against Tennessee State.
"Our entire staff is excited about the opportunity to continue to
televise Tennessee Tech basketball this season, and we hope to
provide the best coverage possible," Wells said. "This season
promises to be extremely exciting with both teams right in the
thick of the hunt for OVC championships, and being able to provide
television coverage should add to the excitement."
The schedules will bring WCTE's cameras to Eblen Center for live
home game telecasts with five Ohio Valley Conference rivals
-- Tennessee State, Morehead State, Jacksonviile State,
Southeast Missouri and Eastern Kentucky. Because of the new OVC
schedule, four of those games are featured in a pair of
doubleheaders (Jan. 7 vs. Morehead State and Jan. 21 vs. Southeast
Missouri) with the women's game at 5:30 p.m. and the men's game
following. The other six games are single games, all scheduled to
start at 7 p.m.
