Tennessee Tech women’s basketball hosts Tennessee Wesleyan

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. --- Fresh off its three contests of the Preseason WNIT, the Tennessee Tech women's basketball team will get a little more home cooking as it welcomes in the Tennessee Wesleyan Lady Bulldogs for a 7 p.m. contest Monday.

The Golden Eagles currently have a pair of players averaging at least 17 points per game with junior Kellie Cook averaging 17.3 and senior Tacarra Hayes boasting 17.0 points per game. R-Freshman Candace Parson has also made an impact on offense, scoring 10 points against both UCLA and Long Island.

TWC enters the week the owner of a 4-2 record, and has won four of its last five games.

The Lady Bulldogs are led by Heather Gibson in scoring, who is averaging 11.8 points per game. Recently, Gibson tallied 22 points against Asbury. She is also averaging a team-high 5.8 rebounds per game.

All-time, the Golden Eagles are 2-0 against the Lady Bulldogs including a 75-42 win last season. Senior Brittany Darling led the way in that contest, boasting a team-high in both points and rebounds with 12 and 8, respectively.
