TTU wraps up non-conference schedule at Western Kentucky

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. --- Looking to get back on track after their recent loss to Murray State, the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles will wrap up their non-conference schedule Tuesday as they travel to former Ohio Valley Conference rival Western Kentucky.

The opening tip is set for 7 p.m.

TTU hit a bump in the road recently as it took a four-point loss to Murray State 76-72 Saturday. Senior Tacarra Hayes recorded her 11th career double-double with 24 points and 12 rebounds, while senior Brittany Darling added 16 points and nine rebounds.

Hayes has led the Golden Eagles offense all season long, and currently boasts a team-high 322 points. Her 24-point performance against MSU marks the sixth time she has surpassed the 20-point plateau on the season.

Darling has also been making an impact as of late as she has posted at least 13 points in four of her last six games, including a career-high 23 points against Marshall back in December.

Western Kentucky (5-12) is currently on a two-game skid with losses coming to North Texas and Denver.

The Lady Topper offense is led by LaTeira Owens, who has averaged 9.7 points per game on the season, including 6.9 rebounds per game. Keisha Mosley has been WKU’s go-to rebounder on the season as she has averaged 7.4 rebounds per game.

Season tickets for 2011-12 season are still on sale and still a good value and can be purchased at the Athletic Ticket Office in Eblen Center, or by calling (931) 372-3940.
