Golden Eagles head to Louisiana to take on UL Monroe Warhawks

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. --- With finals week behind them, the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagle women's basketball team has hit the road for a pair of games in Louisiana before heading into Christmas break, beginning with UL Monroe Monday, at 7 p.m. The entire game will be broadcast on the Golden Eagle Sports Network, but will be delayed, beginning at the completion of the TTU men's game (6 p.m. start) at West Virginia.

This will be the first meeting between the Golden Eagle women and the ULM Warhawks.

The Golden Eagles split their last two games including a 69-59 win against Western Kentucky and 61-55 loss at Samford.

For her solid performance against both the Lady Toppers and Bulldogs, senior Tacarra Hayes won her first Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Week award, and sixth of her career. Against WKU, Hayes poured in a season-high 30 points, and followed with a 27-point performance against Samford. She also connected on 24-of-27 shots from the free throw line.

ULM is currently 1-10 on the season, including a pair of recent losses to Southern Mississippi and Miami. Larrie Williams has led the Warhawk offense, averaging 15 points and six rebounds per game, while Elizabeth Torres has averaged 10.6 points per game, while dishing out a team-leading 71 assists.
