Golden Eagles downed by the hand of Southeast Missouri

CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. – The Tennessee Tech volleyball team fell to 2-2 in conference play on Friday night as they were downed by Southeast Missouri 3-0; 16-25, 13-25, 15-25.

The Golden Eagles could not find an offensive rhythm on Friday against the Redhawks , as they were held to a -.036 hitting percentage.

Sophomore Sharon Anderson recorded a double-double as she dished out 19 assist and added a match-high 14 digs.

Freshman Kellie Williams put down eight kills, while sophomore Irem Sile put away five for the Golden Eagles offense.

The Redhawks were led by Andrea Baylin, who put down a match-best 13 kills. SEMO has two players split the setter role as Allie Henkelman tallied 19 and Baylin dished out 14. 

The Golden Eagles will return home next weekend as they host Belmont in a 7 p.m. CT match on Friday and will host Tennessee State on Saturday at 4 p.m. The weekend will also be highlighted with a "Dig Pink" promotion to support breast cancer awareness.
