Golden Eagles split final day in Lake Charles, La.

LAKE CHARLES, La. – The Tennessee Tech women's volleyball team closed out the Cowgirl Classic with a spit result, losing 3-0 loss to Louisiana Monroe and beating Prairie View A&M.

The Golden Eagles opened the day with a 3-0 loss to Louisiana Monroe.; 25-23, 25- 22, 25-16.

Tech was led by Jordan Wachowiak who had 8 kills and three blocks. Junior Cody Dodd added seven kills and 12 dig.

Monroe grossed a team-high six kills from Heather Jackson.

In the second match of the day, the Golden Eagles rebounded, winning 3-0; 25-20, 25-15, 27-25.

Against Prairie View A&M, Dodd put down an impressive 20 kills with just two errors a stifling hitting percentage of .600. Wachowiak put away 8 kills on nine attempts with no errors. Freshman Kellie Williams added 13 kills on an impressive clip of .312. Senior Courtney Smith added 16 digs.

As an offense, TTU was able to maintain a .374 hitting percentage, while holding Prairie View A&M to just .190.

The Golden Eagles return to action next week when they head to the Wofford / Garner Webb Invitational.
