Golden Eagles continue OVC play on the road with two matches

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – After a pair of tough matches against Jacksonville State and UT Martin to open Ohio Valley Conference play, the Tennessee Tech volleyball team will look to take a couple matches on the road as it squares of with Murray State Friday at 7p.m., and Southeast Missouri Saturday at 2 p.m.

The Racers enter the weekend owners of a 2-12 record, with a 2-1 OVC record. Murray's two wins came in a pair of 3-1 decisions against Eastern Illinois and SIU Edwardsville.

The Golden Eagles own an all-time record of 25-27 against the Racers, which includes a 1-1 record in 2010. Last season, both teams won their respective home match, 3-2.

Murray State is led by Teresa Krog, who tops the Racers with 166 kills. Lia Havili has tallied a team-high 357 assists, while Kayleah Sauer has posted 209 digs.

Southeast Missouri enters the weekend with a 4-10 record, including a 2-1 OVC mark. SEMO's two conference wins have come against Eastern Illinois and Murray State, with their lone conference loss coming against SIU Edwardsville.

The Golden Eagles are 9-33 against the Redhawks all-time, including a 1-1 record in 2010. Last season, each team won a 3-1 road decision.

So far this season, Julie Shives has run the Redhawk offense, dishing out 453 assists, while Brittney Kalinosky has notched 141 kills. Four Redhawks have tallied at least 104 digs, with Samantha Lowman posting a team-leading 179.

The Golden Eagles take a 1-11 record on the trip, including an 0-2 mark in OVC play.
