Atlanta – The Tennessee Tech volleyball team continued to see improvement in its final two matches of the Georgia Tech Invitational Saturday, despite a pair of 3-0 losses to Georgia Tech and Kansas State.

"We saw better play in every match this weekend, and that's what we were hoping to see," head coach John Blair said. "We eliminated some errors along the way, but we still have a lot of things to work on."

Like their previous match against Louisville, the Golden Eagles struggled in the first in third sets (25-11 and 25-12) against Georgia Tech, but managed to make things interesting in the second set as the Yellow Jackets took the 25-17 decision.

Sophomore outside hitter Natalie Penrod recorded three of her seven kills of the match, while sophomore Madi Comperry dished out four of her 10 assists.

Freshman outside hitter Ellen Conti added seven kills during the match, hitting at a solid .500, while freshman middle blocker Madison Keyes notched a team-high five block assists.

TTU wrapped up the Georgia Tech Invitational with a 3-0 loss to the Kansas State Wildcats.

The Golden Eagles opened up the first set on fire building an 11-7 lead. The Wildcats were able to claw their way back into the contest and took the lead for good at 19-18, as they went on to take the set 25-19.

The second set saw some more back and forth action as both teams found themselves knotted up at 10 early on. Despite the solid start, the Golden Eagles were not able to keep pace as Kansas State wrapped up the second set on a 15-7 run to take the set 25-17.

The final set saw so more back and forth action early on, but the Wildcats once again put together a run as they wrapped up the match with a 25-16 victory.

Penrod led the Golden Eagle offense with 12 kills, while Conti added seven more. On Defense sophomore defensive specialist Allison May tallied a match-high 16 digs, while junior middle blocker Kelsey Gray record three total blocks.

"Nobody in the Ohio Valley Conference play the quality opponents that we did this weekend," Blair said. "I wouldn't be surprised it all three of the teams we faced this weekend are competing for their conference championships at the end of the season."

The Golden Eagles return to action next weekend in Nashville for the Lipscomb Invitational, where they will take on Lipscomb and Arkansas State Friday, and UNC Charlotte Saturday.
