Golden Eagles take the loss from Morehead State

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. --- With the reigning Ohio Valley Conference champions stopping by the Eblen Center Saturday afternoon, the Tennessee Tech volleyball knew it was in for a battle as it took the 3-0 loss to Morehead State.

After a rough first set in which they lost 25-14, the Golden Eagles put forth a solid effort in the final two sets, despite dropping both 25-18.

Both teams were tied at 11 in both the second and third sets, but MSU was able to pull away in each instance to secure the set victories.

Sophomore Natalie Penrod led the Golden Eagle offense with nine kills, while junior Kelsey Gray added four kills and seven total blocks, including five solo tallies.

Junior Madison Comperry dished out 19 assists, while sophomore Allison May recorded a team-high 14 digs.

On the other side of the net, Caitlin Clark ran the show as she posted a match-high 44 assists. Annie Gruenschlaeger notched a match-high 11 kills, with Laura McDermott and Aryn Bohannon each posting 10 kills.

With the loss to Morehead State, the Golden Eagles finished their season with a 5-25 record and a 4-16 OVC record.
