Tennessee Tech volleyball hosts “Dig Pink” event for breast cancer awareness

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. --- As part of the Dig Pink National Breast Cancer Awareness Rally, the Tennessee Tech volleyball team will join hundreds of high school and college teams from around the country Oct. 21 in raising money for breast cancer research.

Tech hosts Southeast Missouri at 7p.m., in Eblen Center for an Ohio Valley Conference match. Admission is free.

As part of the dig pink promotion, TTU volleyball players will be wearing pink ribbons during warm-ups and sophomore Allison May will sport a pink game jersey. Fans are invited to join in by wearing pink in support of breast cancer awareness.

Volunteers from the Susan G. Komen Upper Cumberland will be at the match to educate and hand out information regarding the disease beginning at 6 p.m. Booths with papers, baked goods and ribbons will be open.

On Thursday, members of the team will be at the Roaden University Center from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. to collect donations for the cause, and promote this weekend’s matches.
