FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – With just one regular-season meet remaining before heading off to the OVC Indoor Championships at the end of the month, Tennessee Tech will get its last cuts in at the Tyson Invitational.
The meet, hosted by Arkansas in Fayetteville, will last from Friday, Feb. 9 to Saturday, Feb. 10.
Portions of both days will be streamed live on SEC Network+, beginning at 4:30 p.m. CT on Friday and 1 p.m. CT on Saturday.
Tech enters the Tyson Invitational ranked ninth in the USTFCCCA South Region and will compete against a host of other acclaimed track & field programs, including nationally top-ranked Arkansas.
"The Tyson Invitational is one of the most prestigious meets in America," said head coach Wayne Angel. "We feel honored to have been invited. We will be going head-to-head against some of the top Power Five programs in the country. As a team, we must step up to the plate and exhibit a high level of intensity and competitiveness if we are to be successful. If we trust in our training and do the things that are necessary, the results will take care of themselves."
The Golden Eagles still hold top marks in the OVC in eight of the 17 offered indoor track & field events (60m dash, 200m dash, 400m dash, 800m run, mile, 4x400m relay, DMR and pentathlon). Of those eight, three rank within the top 50 marks in the country – Na'Asha Robinson is ranked 19th in the 400m, Tech's DMR squad is 29th and Khemani Roberts is ranked 47th.
