BRENTWOOD, Tenn. – Micayla Rennick has been named the adidas® OVC Female Track Athlete of the Week, as announced by the Ohio Valley Conference on Wednesday in its latest weekly report of the 2017-18 indoor season.

Last weekend at the Meyo Invitational in Notre Dame, Indiana, Rennick placed 12th in the 800m run at 2:10.67 and also helped Tech to a fourth-place finish in the distance medley relay with a time of 11:39.32.

Both times rank first in the conference, and Tech's distance medley relay time ranks 29th nationally (Tech's relay squad consisted of Purity Sanga, Na'Asha Robinson, D'Airrien Jackson and Rennick).

Rennick is also fastest in the OVC in the mile (4:48.99), second-fastest in the 3000m (9:30.49 when adjusted for track size) and fourth-fastest in the 5000m (17:12.98).

She shares this Track Athlete of the Week honor with EKU's Charlotte Imer.

Tech's four athlete of the week honors this season ties Eastern Kentucky for the most in the Ohio Valley Conference.

The Golden Eagles rank ninth in the latest USTFCCCA South Region rankings, which were released Monday.

The list of female OVC weekly honor recipients for Feb. 7 is as follows:
Co-Track Athlete of the Week – Micayla Rennick, Tennessee Tech & Charlotte Imer, Eastern Kentucky
Field Athlete of the Week – Angel Horton, Tennessee State

Tech will end the indoor regular season at the Tyson Invitational in Fayetteville, Arkansas, this weekend.
