Tech makes second trip back to Nashville for Commodore Invitational

NASHVILLE – Tennessee Tech track & field will venture back to the state capital for the second time already this season for the two-day Commodore Invitational, which will take place Friday, Jan. 12 through Saturday, Jan. 13 inside the Vanderbilt Multipurpose Facility.

Tech appeared just last week at the Orange & Purple Classic in Clemson, South Carolina. The Golden Eagles will look to rebound from last week's performance, as a number of team members fell sick. Tech senior and distance runner Micayla Rennick won her first event of the season, timing 17:12.98 in the 5000-meter run, and also placed second in the 800 meters.
 
The Golden Eagles opened their season on Dec. 2, 2017 at Vanderbilt, competing in the Vanderbilt Indoor Opener. Tech collected 15 top-10 finishes, and four members made their collegiate track & field debuts.
 
Host school Vanderbilt will break up both the track and field events into separate days for the meet:
