Tech hosts South Dakota State in first home match of 2015

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech tennis team is set to host its home opener on Saturday morning, as the squad is slated to take on the South Dakota State Jackrabbits at 12p.m. CST, which is an hour later than the original start time due to weather conditions.

SDSU comes to Cookeville on a two-game slide, having lost to Marquette and Nebraska. However, the Jackrabbits are 4-4 on the season.
Tech has been off to a slow start in the early non-conference season, falling to 1-8 after falling to East Tennessee State, Georgia Tech, and Kennesaw State last weekend.

Last season, Tech boasted a 3-1 home court record. However, this marks the first non-conference game Tech has held since February of 2010, when the Golden Eagles topped Georgia State, 5-2.

This is the first time that the Golden Eagles have played South Dakota State. This also marks the first time Tech has played a Summit League opponent.
