Golden Eagles head to instate foe UTC

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech tennis team heads to face instate foe Chattanooga on Saturday, as they take on the Mocs in a 9 a.m. CST showdown on Sunday morning.

This will be the third match of the 2015 season for the Golden Eagles, who played other instate opponents Lipscomb and Middle Tennessee State last weekend.

SETTING THE STAGE
Chattanooga has a 15-9 advantage in the all-time series with Tennessee Tech.  The Mocs have won three-straight over the Golden Eagles, including last year's 4-2 win at home on Jan. 25. 

The Mocs are 1-5 overall, breaking into the win column with a 7-0 shutout against Murray State last Saturday.  UTC has played a tough schedule to this point of the season, including losses at Middle Tennessee, at No. 25 Memphis and at No. 6 North Carolina. 

Tech is 0-2 so far this season, falling 4-3 to Lipscomb and 5-2 to MTSU.  On the Doubles side, the pairing of Alex Arovin and Alberto Esteban and Eduardo Mena and Alvaro Cintas are both 2-0.

On the singles side of things, Arovin and Esteban are each 1-1 in the Singles 1 and 2 spots, respectively.
