Tech men's golf team kicks off spring slate at The Invitational at Savannah Harbor

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Tennessee Tech men's golf team is set to begin its 2020-21 season Saturday morning, beginning two days of play at The Invitational at Savannah Harbor in Savannah, Ga. After nearly a full year away from competition on the links, the Golden Eagles will compete at The Club at Savannah Harbor.

THE INVITATIONAL AT SAVANNAH HARBOR: Feb. 20-21, 2021 – 54 holes (36 Saturday, 18 Sunday), located at the par-72, 7,084-yard The Club at Savannah Harbor in Savannah, Ga.

GOLDEN EAGLE LINEUP: Competing for the Golden Eagles are senior Bracton Womack, sophomore Nick Sutton, junior Chance Taylor, senior Will Brooks and junior Bryce Beeler.

THE COMPETITION: The 15-team field consists of Austin Peay, Belmont, George Mason, George Washington, Longwood, Mercer, Ohio, Tennessee Tech, UNCG, USCB, Valparaiso, VCU, Villanova, Western Carolina and Wright State.

THOUGHTS FROM HEAD COACH POLK BROWN: "It has been a long time coming, but the guys are ready to get after it this weekend in Savannah. We have loved participating in this event to start the spring and this year will be no different. We have been hard at work and are ready for the challenge that awaits us."

WHAT TO WATCH FOR: This represents the third time in the last four years the Golden Eagles have kicked off their spring at The Invitational at Savannah Harbor. Tech also participated in 2017-18 and 2018-19. Brooks, Beeler and Womack all took part in the event in the team's last trip to Savannah, boasting experience at The Club at Savannah Harbor.
