Cunningham, Kendrick finish strong at Samford Intercollegiate

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Despite frost on Monday and rain on Tuesday, the Samford Intercollegiate was played to its fulfillment with freshmen Adam Cunningham and Bryce Kendrick leading the Tennessee Tech men's golf team on the week.

Cunningham carded a 74-74-77 = 225 to go along with Kendrick's 80-73-72 = 225 as the Golden Eagles finished 12th in the 18-team tournament. Cunningham, the Cookeville native, carded 12 birdies over the three rounds, the fourth most out of the field of 94 golfers.

Coach Polk Brown's squad finished better than Ohio Valley Conference rivals Murray State and UT Martin, and just one stroke back of Eastern Kentucky.

The Golden Eagles head to Jackson, Tenn. next weekend to play in the Grover Page Classic, hosted by UT Martin. Updates will be posted on TTUSports.com.
