Tournament presented by Budweiser
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. - The 24th annual Jim Ragland Golden Eagle
Bass Classic, presented by Budweiser and hosted by the Tennessee
Tech football program, has been scheduled for Saturday, May 1. The
event will be held at Ragland Bottom at Center Hill Lake in
Smithville, Tenn., and will kick off at 6 a.m
Registration is underway for the tournament, with registration
date determining starting positions.
There will be a variety of prizes awarded throughout the day, including more than $10,000 in prize money. The first place winner will take home $4,000 and second place is rewarded with $1,500 in prize money. Other prizes include a door prize drawing, an optional four-man division team prize and a giant bass side pot.
There is an entry fee of $160 per boat, with two persons in each boat. Boats will be sent out in one of eight flights.
The 2010 tournament is co-sponsored by Pepsi of Cookeville,
S&R Marine, The Country Giant, Wal-Mart of Cookeville and
Celina-Overton County Cable.
The team of Mike and Andy Roberts of Cookeville captured first
place in last year's tournament. The winning team weighed in with
21.30 pounds, edging out the team of Shannon Patterson and Will
Sherwood of McMinnville, which had 20.06 pounds in its five-fish
haul.
“Everybody involved seemed to have a great time,” said
TTU assistant football coach Justin Shannon, the tournament
director. “We had great participation and excellent support
from our sponsors, which make this such a successful event.”
