Football players read to students at Cane Creek Elementary

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – It is common for Tennessee Tech student-athletes to give back to the community in a variety of ways, such as aiding Habitat for Humanity or collecting food for local groups. Helping those in the Cookeville area is one way that Golden Eagles show their appreciation for the community’s continued support.

Recently, three Tennessee Tech football players – Slade Adams, Hunter Beedle and Andrew Higgins – along with assistant coach Thomas Cox went to Cookeville's Cane Creek Elementary School to read and interact with the students.

Adams, Beedle and Higgins took turns reading to the group of more than 50 students then spent time taking photos with the students and assisting them with their school projects.
