Purple Pride Caravan hitting the road throughout region
COOKEVILLE, Tenn. – The Purple Pride Caravan hits the road
for the final time this week, heading to Smithville Tuesday evening
before wrapping up the preseason next week in Cookeville. The
caravan has been on the road throughout the region for more than a
momth, taking Tennessee Tech football to fans in nine different
communities from Lebanon to Livingston, from McMinnville to
Monterey.
The Caravan will be in Smithville on Tuesday, Sept. 1, at the
Save-A-Lot store from 5 until 6:30 p.m. The caravan is giving
football fans a chance to join Tech personnel in preparing for the
upcoming season, pick up free schedule cards and posters, free
tickets to the first home game and register to win prizes.
Co-sponsored by Magic 98.5, Save-A-Lot food stores, Pepsi and the
Tennessee Tech Athletics Department, the Purple Pride Caravan has
been visiting with free hot dogs and Pepsi products in a tailgate
atmosphere.
The Purple Pride Caravan wraps up on Tuesday, Sept. 8, at the
Save-A-Lot store in Cookeville, two days before the season opener
in Tucker Stadium against Pikeville College.
The first 50 fans at each caravan stop will receive a free pair of
tickets to the game against Pikeville. Fans can pick up the new TTU
football posters, schedule cards and register to win an autographed
TTU helmet signed by head coach Watson Brown to be given away at
each stop along the route along with prizes from Magic 98.5.
Awesome Eagle and members of the TTU cheer squad will be featured
in Smithville, providing a true tailgate atmosphere.
