RICHMOND, Ky. - Inclement weather forced several adjustments and led to rough playing conditions Friday as the Tennessee Tech women's golf team wrapped up the first 18 holes of play at the Colonel Classic hosted by Eastern Kentucky with a team score of 338.

Led by freshman Whitney Robertson, the Golden Eagles fought through the adverse conditions to set themselves up for a big second day of action on Saturday. Robertson finished the first round in a tie for 28th, shooting 82 on the day.

Sophomore Megan Williamson followed just one shot behind her teammate, carding an 83 on the day to tie for 37th overall. Fellow sophomore Maddi Everts shot 84 to help add to the team's first round total, tying for 42nd.

Three other members of the squad recorded identical rounds on Friday, including sophomore Allison Geer and freshmen Lydia Triplett and Haley Davidson. Each Golden Eagles put together an 89 on the day with Davidson competing as an individual.

Originally scheduled as a 54-hole event, the tournament will now feature just 36 holes as the 12-team field will play one 18-hole round on Saturday beginning with a 10 a.m. shotgun start. Tech will look to climb the leaderboard throughout the day and make moves.
