MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - With 18 holes still remaining at the MTSU Blue Raider Invitational, the Tennessee Tech women's golf team looks poised to do some climbing after finishing ninth through two rounds Monday evening.

With one more round on the par-72, 6,177-yard Old Fort Golf Course to play, the Golden Eagles sit just 13 shots back of fifth place, leaving plenty of room for the Tech squad to grab its third top five finish of the fall.

After Day One, the Golden Eagles proved to be consistent, shooting 307-306=613 to place just two strokes behind Ohio Valley Conference foe Murray State.

Leading the way for Tech has been the veteran play of Maddi Everts. The sophomore finished the first day of action tied for 18th after carding a 74-76=150. Just behind Everts is freshman Whitney Robertson, who used a 72-79=151 to tie for 23rd so far. Robertson is coming off back-to-back top 10 finishes in Tech's previous two events.

Finishing third for the Golden Eagles after the first 36 holes was Megan Williamson. The sophomore collected a score of 80-74=154 to force a tie for 39th out of 84 participants.

Freshman Lydia Triplett improved between Rounds One and Two, shooting 82-77=159. Allison Geer wrapped things up for the Golden Eagles, carding an 81-84=165.

The Golden Eagles will conclude its fall schedule with the final round of the 15-team event Tuesday morning. Play will begin with an 8:30 a.m. CDT shotgun start.
